ENTTEC’s Role in Powering Connectopia at Intuit Dome

Connectopia is not a traditional attraction. It is a collaborative worldbuilding experience created by Luminary for the AT&T Deck inside Intuit Dome, a space where fans help generate imaginative digital worlds through the power of artificial intelligence and human imagination. What emerges is a constantly shifting landscape of color, atmosphere, and motion that reflects the creativity of the people standing in front of it.
Connectopia reacts, evolves, and reshapes itself as visitors interact with it. ENTTEC’s control ecosystem sits at the core of this responsiveness, allowing the installation to merge cinematic lighting, real time visuals, and generative elements into a cohesive and fluid environment.

While the engineering stays behind the scenes, the creative possibilities unlocked on the surface belong entirely to the imagination of the guests.
A New Kind of Immersive Experience
Most installations present a finished story. Connectopia invites visitors to help create one.
Guests begin at large interactive portals where they shape the foundations of their own imagined Districts. They select stylistic influences, environmental elements, defining features, and the types of characters who inhabit their world.
Using this input, artificial intelligence instantly generates a visual interpretation, producing a personalized District preview that reflects their creative choices.

Once a District is finalized, it is transmitted into the installation. A dynamic synthesis animation travels across the pixel mesh overhead, guiding visitors to the main display area where their creation is woven into the evolving Connectopia landscape.
A mobile link allows each participant to follow their District’s journey and download a personalized video of their world.

The experience is intuitive, fast, and deeply engaging. Guests do not simply look at Connectopia. They contribute to it.
This level of interactivity required a technical backbone capable of both absolute precision and constant adaptability. This is where ENTTEC comes in.
Engineering for Imagination: Why ENTTEC Was Essential
Behind Connectopia’s fluid visuals is a highly coordinated LED infrastructure that must respond instantly to changing inputs. The installation relies on dense pixel arrangements, unconventional shapes, and imagery that evolves continuously based on user engagement and artificial intelligence output.
The system needed real time mapping, fast refresh rates, high universe counts, multi layer animation, seamless integration with generative systems, and a workflow that supports rapid creative iteration.

ENTTEC’s ecosystem met all of these demands.

• Over 5,300 Addressable LEDs mapped in Enttec LED Mapper split across 12 stages and 73 DMX universes
• 11 unique full color animation looks at 60 FPS controlled by OSC commands
• 3 Pixelators
• 33 IP-PLink Injectors
• Highly complex multi-stage pixel mapping
Using Pixelator series controllers, Pixel Injectors, and ENTTEC LED Mapper (ELM), the team drove complex animations at scale while maintaining color accuracy, frame consistency, and responsiveness.
ELM’s mapping flexibility allowed Luminary to test ideas quickly, refine transitions, and adapt pixel geometry as the creative direction changed.

In an installation where content is never static, ENTTEC provided the foundation for imagination to move at full speed.

How ENTTEC Supported the Creative Workflow
Throughout development, Connectopia changed continuously. New generative outputs, new District concepts, and new environmental variations were incorporated almost daily. ENTTEC’s system made this constant evolution manageable.
With ENTTEC, Luminary was able to map complex pixel geometry with accuracy, layer dynamic lighting behaviors over artificial intelligence generated imagery, maintain low latency between user input and on screen output, scale to high pixel densities without sacrificing stability, and revise scenes as creative decisions shifted.
Most importantly, ENTTEC’s tools allowed the creative team to focus on ideation rather than troubleshooting. The system remained stable and adaptable so the artwork could remain fluid.
The Result: A Living, Evolving Environment
Connectopia feels alive. New Districts materialize, merge, dissolve, and reemerge as guests contribute their ideas. Colors shift, atmospheres change, and the larger world adapts around each visitor’s creative choices.
