T-Pain’s Disco Lines at Stagecoach: Octos Bringing Back the ’70s
For T-Pain’s Stagecoach performance, Dark Moon Designs brought serious retro flair and innovative lighting effects to the stage—creating a custom DJ booth and a separate performance platform that worked together to craft an unforgettable visual moment.
The performance platform, placed at center stage and lined with 70s-inspired shag carpet, was designed to glow subtly around the edges—adding texture and a warm, vintage vibe.
This lighting detail gave the piece a soft halo effect while complementing the more technical elements around it.
Behind the platform stood the DJ booth, built with a large aluminum frame that supported tinted acrylic panels on all exterior sides.
According to Natalia from Dark Moon Designs:
“His DJ booth was built with a large aluminum frame to help fasten acrylic to all the exterior facades. The acrylic itself was window-tinted on the interior to not allow light from the outside to go in, yet when lights went off inside the frame, it breaks the opaque illusion.”

Inside the booth, the design got even more interesting. Natalia explained:
“The inside of the table has a mirror surface with LED pucks arranged in a grid—when light goes off inside, what you are seeing is the lighting bouncing back in on itself in the mirror which causes the mirror effect! Infinity mirrors are a tried and true visual effect, but it was very exciting to design and build something that we personally haven’t seen before.”
