What are constant voltage (CV) LED strip lights?

Also known as analog LED strip lights, constant voltage (CV) RGB or RGBW strips are a continual array of tiny LED lights typically available as a 10m reel of flexible PCB tape with adhesive backing. They differ from their more animated cousins — LED pixel strips (also known as digital, addressable, intelligent or smart LED strips) — in that the entire length of a CV strip can only glow or dim in one color at a time.

Color strips (RGB and RGBW) create vibrant effects, while white strips offer adjustable color temperatures, allowing you to customize your lighting. With varying lumen outputs depending on the model, CV LED strips provide an efficient source of decorative light.

This classic effect is popular for good reason, especially for ambient lighting and setting moods. The series features heavy-duty 4oz copper substrates — significantly thicker than the standard 1oz–2oz found in most LED tapes. This provides higher current-carrying capacity, reduced voltage drop, better thermal regulation, and extended maximum run lengths: up to 13m (NA1), 15m (NA2), or 10m (NA3/NA4) with dual injection.

Updated LED packages and optimised board design deliver significantly higher lumen performance across every model:
