What happens if my host program or computer crashes during a performance?

Problem:

Is DMXIS reliable for live use in a crash situation? Won't my audience be plunged into darkness if my software or computer hangs up?

Solution:

The DMXIS hardware interface holds a copy of the most recent settings. If your host program or computer should crash, the DMXIS interface will "hold" the last lighting scene played, giving you time to restart your host application or computer. For this to work reliably, USB power needs to be continuously maintained to the DMXIS box. For this reason, it can be a good idea to plug the DMXIS box into an external powered USB hub. This way, you know you can power cycle your computer without cutting the USB power supply to the DMXIS box.
