BBC Studios extends the Aleph Branch

Cambridge, UK may be known as the site of one of the world's most venerable and respected institutions of higher learning, but it was a different kind of illumination that the BBC was looking for when they set out to build a new studio there to cover news items local to the area. On that set, a lot of special problems were posed, and the way things turned out, Enttec had the right answers.

The job included a number of standard-length Cool White LEDs (off the shelf units), which light up elements of the scenery for this news set. Enttec also made a custom firmware for the DIN LED4PX, which provided user-controllable parametric flickering that conformed to various real-world simulation effects. Along with those custom LED drivers, the BBC asked for custom lengths of Aleph 1 Series, under 4", with two RJ45 connectors to allow it plugging through.

A Success story : Pics

The entire effect created by using the Enttec Aleph Strips was enough of a success story that they replicated this design when they renovated their next newsroom in Hull.
