Editor's Note

This month I tried to make a cute Editor's Note. It was going to play off of "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb". I was set to link that with the Broadway Lighting Master Class, where we're a sponsor again in May. I'd have gotten away with it too, if my wife weren't a pretty good editor in her own right, and hadn't pointed out to me that I was taking you places that really had little to do with lighting, and less to do with Enttec. So we'll try it her way. No funny stuff. (Genesis didn't need the royalty anyhow. Same goes double for Disney). I'll just tell you where we've appeared recently (not like a rabbit out of a hat, but that story may appear in May or June, so stay tuned), and where we're supposed to strut our stuff in the coming months.

MIDIWING : further details

Use of MIDIwing is possible with a large variety of programs and hardware desks. To date, it has been slated for use or used successfully in conjunction with:

  • Lighting consoles , such as Whole Hog II (sample available, tests pending)

Press Clippings

  • SAS February 2009 Article: "Now that's architainment"

Next I was going to continue the animal theme, talking about how an ox and a hog walk into a bar with two wings. The bartender looks at them and says "what is this, a joke?" No, it's MIDIwing fully fleshed out and ready to try with a Flying Pig system. You can download it, try it. make it run your Whole Hog II desk or your Hog2PC from our humble wings, and see how much fun it is. Read the next installment in the MIDIwing story here . OK, I lied, that was funny, kind of. Funny looking, at least.

Last issue we also announced LightFactory V2 would be out soon, and things are on target for an early April release. You don't have to wait that long to hear what's new about it though. We have an article about new features and improvements served up for right now, so click here to read about it . This is important news, for anyone wanting to have state of the art PC-based Lighting Control.

If I am self-banned from puns and wordplay, perhaps I can shift the burden of writing onto the shoulders of others. Let's review what some members of the press said about us this month. Apparently PLSN and SAS magazines and the entertainment lighting blog iSquint.net all had Enttec on the brain, so if you're curious what they had to say, click here.

See you in a few weeks!
