USER PROFILE

Chris Hults

Chris Hults is a Los Angeles based technician specializing in electrics for the television production industry. He's established as a solid professional most often employed by Warner Brothers Television, with some well known credits like ER and West Wing. Chris has a secret weapon he brings with him now to many of the jobs he's hired on to do. He has built himself a kit (often rented out by him to the production company employing him) which is a very elaborate LightFactory set-up with multiple screens. He uses an Open DMX USB and a DMX USB Pro to convert between the computer and his dimmers. One of the earlier shows Chris used this on was Without a Trace, for a few locations and set ups. Later he came to rely on it much more fully for the first season of Heroes, Women''s Murder Club and he currently is putting it to work on the filming of the next season of Monk.

Asked what he likes about the Enttec line, Chris is quick to point out how intuitive it is to use, how flexible, and the great bang for the buck it provides. He told us “many of the people I work with are really surprised by what this can do. One guy in particular seems to think if he didn't spend a lot, it wouldn't be any good for use in the real world, but I'm slowly getting him to come around to my way of thinking.

Chris seems excited about the future upgrades he plans to make. “After Monk would be a good time to get set up with Ethernet and to add the Programming Wing, he muses.
