The ODE Truss Mount Bracket

The first product to talk about has been on the pricelist for a couple of months now and is finally shipping. The ODE Truss Mount Bracket has been designed to allow you to mount our single universe Art-Net node to a pipe. It's simple and strong and it does the job it was intended to do. What's not to like? Well, some of the earliest customers asked for a way to give the power supply cord some strain relief. The next batch we make is going to address this need, you can bet. And then at a rental shop where I was displaying the first version, a very creative technician came up to me and showed me that we could easily mount two in one holder with just a couple of more screw holes, so that improvement is on its way as well! Whether you need two for different universe decoding or to have a backup, that will be a big timesaver to hang just one bracket. New features, same price.

Dongles

Next up, let's talk about dongles. Software License Keys, would be a more precise way to describe them. It's not well known but we've been offering one for LightFactory for a few months now. It can support any size version of the program, and is a modestly priced accessory to add on to the sale of the license. Moving a customer who already has a license onto a dongle is possible, but requires special arrangements, so please consult us for details before offering them that service. Selling a new license on the dongle is the preferred way to get them into the field. Once a customer owns that dongle, they can move their license around between as many computers as they like with ease.

The dongle craze doesn't end there, however. Not by a long shot. We're now going to offer a dongle to give users of the DMX USB Pro access to our full RDM Controller application. (The Lite version of the RDM Controller is free to download and use with that less expensive hardware adapter, but the Full was available only to those who purchased the RDM USB Pro, until now.)

What is faster than a speeding crossfade, more powerful than an RFU, and able to leap over tech rehearsals in a single bound?

If you guessed a superhero with a light board, you're a little off target. Summer blockbuster movies do feature superheroes a lot though, so we'll give you partial credit. It's not your fault you were inundated by media images pushing that message..

But the real answer is our Program Wing! I know some of you will say that's as much a fictional device as anything Stan Lee ever dreamed up, because I've been telling you it's on its way for so long and no samples showed up at your loading dock yet. Well, think again.

It's here. One's in my kit now, and there are over a dozen in the hands of customers already. This is the product which I've been eagerly awaiting and touting as the next big thing for about a year now. It got back-burnered for a while, but is now a hot new addition to our lineup, and the reviews so far have been phenomenal!

It's got encoders, dedicated buttons for LightFactory functionality, numeric keypad for entry of channels, levels, times, parameters, etc. This really makes programming with LightFactory a breeze!

It cuts through so many chores that you had to alternate between mouse and keyboard to perform, so your cueing sessions can be significantly faster. It also lets you manipulate 3 encoders simultaneously, to mix colors for instance. That's a big time saver over click/scroll, click/scroll, click again. We believe this item more than any other single option or accessory makes LF a big-league contender for the jobs traditionally reserved for, well, traditional consoles.
